Pokuaa Oduro-Bonsrah is finishing her PhD in the department of International History and Politics at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her research contributes to the history of psychological disciplines concerned with children. She analyses how psychological and anthropological theories and their practitioners constructed the mentality and rational abilities of ‘the African’ from childhood to maturity.

Pokuaa's general research interests include the social history of human sciences, childhood histories, histories of race and gender. 

She was recently a visiting research fellow at the University of Oxford's Centre for History of Science, Medicine and Technology. Pokuaa holds a Master in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute.

In addition to her research, Pokuaa is an officer of the Society for the History of Children and Youth.
